Why choose shutters?
Once an expensive option for window treatments, recent years have seen shutters become more affordable as production has been sourced in the Far East.
Providing shutters are designed sympathetically they will suit most homes from country cottages to city apartments. A look at our gallery will show you how shutters can be used in different situations to create a look that's different from curtains.
More adaptable than curtains, shutters can offer privacy both during the day as well as nightime.
What types of shutters do we offer?
The three main materials on the UK market are MDF, Hardwood and UPVC.
Each product has it's own benefits but essentially the specifications are similar.
The best selling product in the UK is MDF, as historically it has been the least expensive. However, in recent years some wood shutters are being offered at similar prices.
Colour and Stain options are almost limitless, but at the end of the day Pure White normally goes on the order form!

What's the lead time?
Coming from the Far East, shutters mainly take 10-12 weeks to arrive.
We also offer a British made, UPVC product, that takes about 4 weeks to be delivered.
Where do we operate?
Based in Whissendine, Rutland, we install window shutters over the whole of the East Midlands region covering Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Rutland and the cities of Nottingham, Leicester, Peterborough and the surrounding towns and villages.
Some of the towns we cover include Oakham, Uppingham, West Bridgford, Market Harborough, Oundle, Melton Mowbray, Grantham, Loughborough, Radcliffe, Bingham, Long Eaton, Stamford, Bourne, Corby, Kettering, Spalding and Sleaford.
Occasional work is carried out in North Norfolk for those lucky enough to have holiday homes there.
A Brief History
Rutland Shutters was established in 2005 as a logical addition to our existing curtain business, www.rutlandcurtains.co.uk
Having relocated from London in 2004, shutters at that time were a small but ever expanding part of our business, and a few decades later, shutters are the mainstay of the business.
